I just wanted to check in so you all knew I hadn’t forgotten about you or your favorite characters
I’m currently writing the next chapter of Rick’s book but because we’re almost at the end, I’m stuck. 100% totally and completely stuck. As you probably know, my chronic illness has drastically changed my relationship with writing, and although that’s something that’s slowly improving, it’s been a long time since I’ve written an ending to something, and I’m struggling with it. I know there are things that need to be fixed or adjusted in the book and the sequence of events, and my current brain struggles to just get to the ending and fix those things at the end, during editing, like you’re supposed to. Like I used to do quite frequently. It’s incredibly frustrating, and I wish my brain didn’t work that way now, but it doesn’t. Long gone are the days of past Courtney writing a 50K+ word book every month, that’s for sure
Truths and Chains is currently on hold. I need to pin down exactly WHEN this book takes place, including when Elias’s dad died. The year is important for Jamal’s books, and where this falls in the timeline is important to Jamal and Bo’s books, as well as any other mafia books I write. At one point in time, I had Elias’s birthday written down in a notebook somewhere, but I shoved so many of my notebooks into boxes and drawers that I wouldn’t even know where to start with that, lol. But I’m working on it! Once I have the timeline set, I’ll tweak a couple things in the currently posted chapters and then we’ll be back in business
Bo’s next book is coming soon! I’m hoping to finish Rick’s book this month and then dive back into Bo’s. Bo, Jensen, and David have all been in my head a bit lately, tossing me scenes that I totally don’t have room in my brain to store, so I’m hoping to get to them before they’re done talking again, but we’ll see how things go
Again, thank you guys so much for your patience. Though there are always things I’ll miss about Wattpad, the incredibly entitled messages and comments I’d get from people aren’t one of them. I don’t mind occasionally asking about progress or when a chapter is coming, but Wattpad was more like people telling you to go die if you aren’t going to post an update in the next hour. I’ll always be so thankful for the readers, writers, and friends I met there, but it was incredibly toxic and was the very beginning of my downfall in terms of my relationship with writing, and it has taken me a long time to even begin to repair that. So to say I really appreciate those of you who have migrated here and stuck around is an understatement
Thank you
Hello! I hope you’re okay! Thank you so much for the update!! Take care.

Thank you! I think I’ll be a little higher functioning if we ever fully get out of the heat waves π₯΄ I hope you’re doing well!
