Things haven’t exactly been easy-sailing for Bo Austen-Taylor since he took over as Chief of Police for the LAPD. Between running the department, doing his duties as a forensic analyst, and taking over for Jamal Pitman in the darker aspects of life, finding a balance that still makes him feel like the lab geek he’s always been is difficult.
Tack on a missing mobster and a murderer in Los Angeles, and Bo has a recipe for disaster. Violent beatings are bad enough on their own, but when those violent homicides may relate to the missing mobster, the mobster that is, by extension, his responsibility, he can’t help but struggle.
Bo had thought that, at some point, being chief of police would be normal for him, but when the dark side of his life collides with the upstanding law enforcement side, he knows he’s been lying to himself. But maybe there’s still some hope for normality if he can just find The Spectator.
