8:32 AM; CLINSTONE, THE AUSTEN-TAYLOR HOUSEHOLD, MASTER BEDROOM
Bo shrugged a shirt on over his shoulders, clearing his throat. He reached back and shook Jensen’s shoulder. “Celia’s coming over.”
Jensen groaned, rolling onto his stomach. “For?”
“Her appointment’s today.” Bo buttoned up his shirt, turning to look at Jensen over his shoulder.
“Appointment?” Jensen finally asked.
Bo smiled faintly, combing his fingers through Jensen’s hair. “Love, I swear you never pay attention to me when I’m talking. We’re going to find out if we’re pregnant or not, Jens,” he said.
“Holy shit. That’s today?” Jensen asked, lifting his head. Bo nodded. Jensen pushed himself up until he was sitting.
“Yeah, love, that’s today.”
“I gotta shower, then,” Jensen murmured. He pressed a kiss to Bo’s temple, lifting his head as a soft knock sounded at the front door. “Would… that be her?”
“She’s not supposed to be here for another half hour.”
Jensen grunted his response. “Go on. I’ll be out there after I get dressed.”
“Mmhmm.” Bo rose to his feet, swiping his watch from the nightstand. He walked out of the bedroom, fastening his watch around his wrist. In the foyer, he unlocked the front door and pulled it open. A soft smile crossed his face. “Hi, Celia.”
“Hey, Bo,” Cecilia greeted. She stepped into the house, kicking off her shoes as Bo shut the door. “Where’s your other half?”
Bo chuckled. “Getting dressed. Have you eaten?”
“I have,” Cecilia said, shoving her hands into her pockets as she followed Bo into the kitchen. She sat down on the counter as Bo turned on the coffee maker. She looked up as Jensen walked into the kitchen, pulling a shirt on over his head. “So, good news. You don’t have to take me to the doctor.”
Bo frowned, turning to face her. “How is that good?”
“Yeah, that sounds bad, Cecilia,” Jensen said.
She shook her head. “A nurse called me this morning to let me know there was an opening at eight, so… I went in,” she said. “I’ll have the results in two or three hours. So you guys are stuck with me until then. I was going to call you when the nurse called me, but if I had, I wouldn’t have been able to make it to the doctor’s in time.”
Bo shook his head. “Don’t be sorry for that. Celia, now we get to know even sooner. That’s… that’s amazing,” he said. “Thank you.”
One corner of her mouth lifted as she nodded. “My pleasure.” She crossed her arms over the top of the counter, clearing her throat. “You’re lucky this appears to be one of my mellow days.”
Bo chuckled, rounding to counter to press a kiss to her temple. “I wouldn’t mind if this was your most aggressive day. We’d still spend the whole day with you, no questions asked.”
11:40 AM; CLINSTONE, THE AUSTEN-TAYLOR HOUSEHOLD, FAMILY ROOM
“Thank you,” Cecilia said softly. She pulled her phone away from her ear, lifting her gaze to Bo and Jensen’s faces.
Bo held up his left hand, index finger extended. “Just a second. Don’t tell me yet, okay?” he asked. “I need a minute.” Cecilia nodded, clasping her hands at her waist. Bo inhaled deeply before dropping his hand. “Okay,” he whispered. Jensen reached out, grabbing Bo’s hand and intertwining their fingers.
Cecilia smiled faintly. “You’re gonna have a baby.”
“Oh, my God,” Jensen breathed as Bo’s free hand moved to cover his mouth.
“We’re going to have a baby,” Bo whispered. “Holy shit.” He turned, throwing his arms around Jensen as a laugh fell past his lips. “A baby, Jens. A little baby of our own.”
Jensen wrapped him in a tight hug, blinking harshly as he glanced up at the ceiling. “We’re gonna have a baby,” he murmured, burying his fingers in Bo’s hair. Cecilia kept her distance, allowing the men to take the information in at their own pace. Nearly a minute passed before Jensen held out an arm, his teary eyes shifting to Cecilia’s face. “All right, baby momma. Get your ass over here.”
Cecilia crossed the room, letting out a surprised grunt as both men pulled her into a hug.
Jensen kissed her temple, closing his eyes. “I will never be able to thank you enough for this, Cecilia,” he whispered. “But thank you so fucking much.”
Cecilia laughed softly, clapping a hand down on his back. “My pleasure.”
Bo sniffled, taking a step back. “W–we can’t tell anyone. Not for a while, anyway.” He cleared his throat, lifting a hand to wipe at his eyes. “This is only the first step in a long ass process. Nobody knows until everything’s more… sound.”
“Optimism, babe,” Jensen said quietly.
“I am optimistic. I’m just, you know, also realistic,” Bo said. “The one thing you’re going to want to do is share this with everyone, because it is beyond exciting, but we can’t do that. Not right away.” “Of course,” Cecilia said. “It’s totally between us until you two decide otherwise.” She smiled. “Nonetheless, this is a huge step for you two. This is a giant congratu-fucking-lations.”
