7:37 AM; LOS ANGELES, THE WEREWOLF’S HOUSE, LIVING ROOM
The Werewolf sat down on the couch, setting his coffee mug on a coaster on the end table. He hadn’t been able to stop thinking about the woman on the sidewalk since he’d touched her.
“Lydia Harvey,” he murmured, reaching out to grab the remote control. He aimed it at the television and turned it on. He dropped the remote to the couch, knowing that nothing but the news would be on.
He leaned back against the couch and grabbed his coffee mug, taking a small sip of the hot liquid. He closed his eyes, a faint smile tugging at either corner of his mouth. The Lydia Harvey he saw in his mind was much more of a natural beauty than the Lydia he’d bumped into on the sidewalk.
Or, the Lydia that he had allowed to bump into him.
In his mind, he saw her for who she was deep down. Lydia before a breast augmentation. Lydia before three rhinoplasties. Lydia before the buttock augmentation. Lydia before the tummy tuck. Lydia before the extreme facial treatments to reduce her acne scars.
He opened his eyes and took another sip of his coffee. Lydia had been beautiful before everything she’d done to ‘fix’ herself to society’s standards of beauty. She had been beautiful, but he knew she had never seen herself that way.
Her soul was filled with the three blues that were most dangerous when thrown together. Light blue, blue, dark blue.
Sadness, melancholy, depression.
Even now, after the procedures she’d gone under for beauty, all three blues were present in her soul, in her aura.
He shook his head, glancing over at the television. Lydia Harvey wouldn’t be his next prey, his next kill. She had put herself through too much to be perfect. He was working to be perfect, too. He’d leave Lydia Harvey alone.
He’d have to go out tomorrow and let someone else just… walk right into him.
A/N: I get a lot of questions about posting and uploading here, so I finally timed this process to answer it, lol. It takes me about six minutes to format a normal 1.5K-ish chapter, not counting the navigation links between chapters, so this book will take me approximately 5 hours to upload, not counting the links I go back through and do at the end.
In case you’re curious as to why this takes me so long 😅
